Hi-P Conflict Minerals Policy
Release time:2023.09.05

Hi-P's products, like those of many other high-tech companies, contain various metals purchased from third-party vendors worldwide. These metals include tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold, collectively known as “3TG” and also referred to as “conflict minerals.” These metals have been labeled “conflict minerals” because they are sourced, in part, from the conflict-affected Democratic Republic of Congo and adjoining countries (the “Conflict Region”), and because some trading of these metals is believed to finance illegal armed groups responsible for the conflict there.

Hi-P is committed to exercising due diligence in accordance with the OECD Guidance regarding the source and chain of custody of such metals and has fulfilled the reporting and sourcing requirements.

Hi-P expects its suppliers to have adopted policies consistent with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance and to have developed processes to identify the source of Conflict Minerals contained in their products. Furthermore, these metals should be validated as “conflict-free” by an independent third-party organization or audit program.

Hi-P will seek alternative sources of these 3TG metals if any of our suppliers cannot demonstrate sufficient due diligence documenting that the metals used in manufacturing our products are conflict-free.

Hi-P is committed to communicating the CMRT policy to all our subcontractors and suppliers.

Hi-P requires that suppliers do not source 3TG metals that directly or indirectly benefit armed groups perpetrating serious human rights abuses in the DRC or adjoining countries.

Hi-P ensures that suppliers do not impose a blanket ban on all minerals from the DRC or adjoining countries.
